TE TUPU | MANAGED MOVES

A COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY APPROACH FOR SUPPORTING YEAR 3-8 STUDENTS IN NAPIER

Nau mai, haere mai!

Welcome to Te Tupu Managed Moves!

We are a facility that offers short term education and wraparound support for students in Years 3-8 that live in the Napier City area.

Students come to us for a variety of reasons. Te Tupu Managed Moves offers wraparound support for students, schools and whānau that may be experiencing challenges, equipping them with skills and support to continue with their education. We are lucky to be supported by specialists that help our students, whānau and teachers with a range of issues from behavioural support, learning support or health needs.

We also support other schools in the wider Napier area by offering professional development and services for schools that are too far away to have their students attend our facilities.

Our facilities

Te Tupu Managed Moves has spacious classrooms, a private outdoor area and loads of activites to keep learners engaged.

Our curriculum

Students at Te Tupu Managed Moves have an individualised learning programme based on their needs, interests and learning goals.

“It is the first intervention that I’ve been able to access that is truly designed around the child and not around the constraints of an intervention. The support wraps around the child and is designed for the child’s needs.”

Tinetti said one of the most moving experiences she’d had during her time as Associate Education Minister was hearing from some graduates of the Napier programme. Now in their early teens, they “stood there with mana and said; ‘This has changed my life’.”

One mother said the programme had not only changed her son’s life but her life, too.

“She was so proud of her son, and it was the most amazing sight to see that and the most privileged experience that I could hope to have,” Tinetti said.
